Classroom Quick Tips: Zoom Guest Speaker

The following information covers commonly experienced technical issues when hosting a guest speaker over Zoom while teaching in a classroom on-Grounds.

Classroom Audio Distortion

If the audio output from your classroom microphone(s) sounds distorted, use the following steps.

  1. Go to the audio icon in Zoom and click the upward facing arrow. Select Audio Settings.
  2. Under Microphone, uncheck Automatically adjust microphone volume.

Fixing Guest Speaker Echo

  1. Ask your guest to enter their Zoom Audio Settings and select Advanced.
  2. Change Signal processing by Windows audio device drivers to Off and change Echo cancellation to Aggressive.
